2. **Presentation: The Elements of Art and Principles of Design**:
- Briefly review the elements of art (line, shape, form, colour, value, space, and texture) and the principles of design (balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, and unity).
#### Main Activity - Part 1: Formal Analysis (30 minutes)
1. **Introduction to Formal Analysis**:
- Present the steps of formal analysis:
1. Describe: What do you see? (Subject matter, mediums, and techniques)
2. Analyse: How is the artwork organised? (Elements and principles)
3. Interpret: What is the meaning? (Context, symbolism, and personal interpretation)
4. Judge: What do you think about the artwork? (Personal opinion and evaluation)
2. **Group Work on Selected Artworks**:
- Divide students into small groups and assign each group a different artwork.
- Provide each group with an art critique worksheet.
- Instruct students to examine their assigned artwork and fill out the worksheet, focusing on the formal analysis steps.
#### Main Activity - Part 2: Group Presentations and Discussions (30 minutes)
1. **Group Presentations**:
- Have each group present their analysis to the class.
